Dinner entertainment in several acts
And Thank you for the music! MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY is here.
First came the musical. Then the movie. Now the party begins. But when you enter the frame there is no musical. No theatre stage. Instead, you step right into a MAMMA MIA!-world with a whole new story, and a different experience. You and your friends take over where the movie ends and MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY begins.
A tasty Mediterranean buffet is placed on your table. Glasses are being raised across the room. Everything happens on a magical evening in several acts filled with singing and dancing, daredevil stunts, Greek Gods, flirty waiters, and perhaps a Zorba and an Ouzo or two. The rest is up to you. Because no evening is like any other. And no one knows how it ends. It all depends on where ABBA’s songs take us! But one thing’s for sure: you can count on a Summer night city. The temperature at Nikos Taverna is always set on Greek high summer, regardless of season. Ready to make history? Opa!!
A Greek taverna
MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY continues. Welcome to Nikos Taverna at Tyrol.
From musical productions on the world’s big stages to Hollywood – MAMMA MIA! is a magical journey that seems never ending. Next step? That is something we take together, here and now.
I want more people to discover the magic, and make it theirs. My vision is that guests, personnel, musicians and artists shape the party together, in an evening set on a Greek taverna on the island of Skopelos where the movie was made, with olive trees, a fountain and everything that comes with the warm sea breeze.
That’s why we have moved Nikos Taverna from the Mediterranean to Tyrol at Gröna Lund, Stockholm, and transformed the place in every detail. For me, it’s a natural choice: Tyrol has never been any ordinary restaurant, but part of another world. People have always come here to enjoy something new, different and appealing. Now it’s that time again. At Nikos Taverna you’ll discover the Ouzo and the Zorba, the food and the wine, the stars and the moon, the sound of the crickets in the heat of the night, and people singing and dancing to the music of ABBA in a whole new way. Just like the movie, but for real. And that is a whole different story. Because with the help of Abba’s songs we’ll create the unique history of each night there and then! Welcome to make it all yours.
Always reinventing itself
Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, known as the super group ABBA, were active between 1973-1982. Their songs and music still have millions of fans all over the world.
Appeared on ABBA's third, self-titled album and quickly became one of their many timeless hits. It was written by Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, and like many of their early songs, together with Stikkan Anderson.
Producer Judy Craymer's vision of a stage musical based on ABBA's songs becomes reality when Mamma Mia! premiers in London's West End with a script by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. To date over 60 million people around the world have seen it.
The film version of the musical, with Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Amanda Seyfried, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard among others, is one of the most watched musical films of all time.
On January 20 the next chapter in the MAMMA MIA! story begins. An experiment of a night filled with music, good food, drinks, dance and happiness. We are doing this together and there are no limits to where this party can take us. And it all starts on Djurgården in Stockholm.
